Teatr A Part (A Part Theatre Association) was founded in Katowice in 2004 by Marcin Herich, an actor, director and organizer of theatre projects, previously associated with with the Cogitatur Theatre in Katowice. The Theatre – Association is an independent theatre organization, whose main area of interest is the broadly defined original, experimental, innovative and alternative theatre, its promotion and popularization. However, first of all the A PART Theatrical Association is a theatre group that creates original stage productions, site-specific activities and open-air performances. It is a theatre of visual narrative, metaphor and symbol, a theatre of the body, movement and form that operates with a wide range of theatrical means and stage tricks. The founders of the Association are interested in everything that remains non-verbalised in both dramatic message and in life, and their performances reach deep into the human instincts and mysteries of existence, into emotions and the imponderables.
The group is continuing and developing some of the artistic and organizational themes of the alternative Cogitatur Theatre, existing in the years 1981-2006, where Herich was one of the leaders.
The performances of the A Part Theatre, presented on guest scenes, in the open air and non-theatrical spaces, at home and abroad, have been shown so far in dozens of countries on 5 continents (Belarus, Brazil, Croatia, Montenegro, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Egypt, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Iran, Ireland, Israel, South Korea, Lithuania, Germany, Poland, Russia, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, the USA, Hungary, Great Britain, and Italy).
In 2018, the company received the Golden Mask, an award granted by journalists from the Śląskie Voivodeship for lifetime artistic achievements.
Teatr A Part is a producer and organiser of the cyclical International Festival of Performing Arts A Part (previously: International A Part Theatre Festival). Marcin Herich was one of the co-originators and has been the artistic director of this event from its beginnings in 1994 in Katowice. Up to now, the festival took place 25 times (the last one was in June 2019).

William Shakespeare, King Lear, act 3, scene IV
Lear, f *** you! –an outdoor performance inspired by William Shakespeare’s King Lear and Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s novel The Autumn of the Patriarch.
This is the second performance of Teatr A Part (after Nothing. Sketches to King Lear from 2017), referring to the motifs and themes from the work of the genius Stratford guy. While in Nothing. Sketches to King Lear the axis of the play were intimate motifs of difficult relationships between daughters and their fathers as well as the hell of passing time, old age and infirmity, in Lear, f *** you! the central theme of the performance is the despotism of the old age, the pursuit of absolute power, losing oneself in conflict and war, and the phenomenon of entropy along with the accompanying disintegration, erosion of social and moral structures.
Both performances are a kind of "Learian" diptych.
The spectacle Lear, f *** you! is a collage of stage images, with all the characteristics of the style typical for Teatr A Part, and present in their previous performances such as Femina, El Niño, Love in the Time of Anxiety and Faust). Just as in earlier productions, the visual side of the performance consist of high metal structures, simple moving platforms, stilts, fire and expressive acting.
